Friends Spencer Gilpin (Alex Wolff), Anthony "Fridge" Johnson (Ser'Darius Blain), Martha Kaply (Morgan Turner), and Bethany Walker (Madison Iseman) have graduated from high school and moved on. This is one year after the events of the previous movie. Martha has become a popular student at her college, while Fridge has been working out a lot. Bethany is traveling the world while performing community service. They plan a get-together at Nora's diner in Brantford, New Hampshire, to commemorate the holidays. Spencer has been going through a difficult time while attending college in New York. He has put his long-distance relationship with Martha on hold because he is unhappy with his menial supermarket job.
