Transformers: Age of Extinction movie explained

The Autobots have gone into hiding after thwarting Sentinel Prime and Megatron's army in Chicago. This is because the government has classified all transformers as threats and has started to hunt them all down. As a result, the government has created its own transformers using the technology of the destroyed transformers to replace the Autobots. As Lockdown, a mysterious new foe, sets his sights on Earth, a mechanic, his daughter, and his daughter's boyfriend are drawn into the conflict after discovering Optimus Prime in their possession. _________. The Transformers have been outlawed for three years following the Battle of Chicago. A massive operation has been launched to find and eliminate any remaining Autobots or Decepticons at the command of CIA agent Harold Attinger (Kelsey Grammer). Unbeknownst to a number of parties, Attinger is also collaborating with Lockdown (Mark Ryan), an extraterrestrial bounty hunter. The group discovers the Autobot Ratchet hiding in Mexico by collaborating with a mercenary team known as The Cemetery Wind, led by James Savoy (Titus Welliver). Lockdown asks for information about Optimus Prime's location after hurting the former Autobot medical officer. Lockdown rips Ratchet's "spark" from his chest and gives it to Savoy and his team when Ratchet continues to refuse to divulge. In the meantime, inventor Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) and his business partner Lucas Flannery (T. J. Miller) search an old movie theater for possibly salvageable mechanical parts. Cade is astounded to discover a flat-nosed semi truck concealed among the trash while searching the crumbling auditorium. Even stranger, nobody knows how the old theater got there, according to the owner! In addition to buying the semi-rig with the intention of disassembling it for parts, Cade also buys several of the theater's mechanical components. Given that their home is in danger of going into foreclosure and that Cade has been stealing electricity from a neighbor, it goes without saying that Tessa (Nicola Peltz), his daughter, does not view his most recent endeavor as anything other than her father avoiding his obligations. Cade continues to believe that his innovations and good intentions will pay off and support Tessa's college expenses. In spite of the fact that several mechanisms should have been damaged given the semi-truck's damaged state, Cade is surprised to discover while inspecting it that it still operates internally. The inventor is confident he has discovered a Transformer when Cade connects a battery to the engine and hears a booming voice say, "Calling all Autobots!". Tessa agrees that it would be a good idea to report the truck to the authorities because, according to Lucas, they could earn between $25 and $100,000 from the find (which would help them pay off their debts and give Tessa some cash for college). Although he knows its alien technology can help him make his own inventions function, Cade refuses and instead wants to restore the truck and investigate how it works. In front of everyone, the truck violently transforms into Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) as he works to repair it. At first, Optimus believes that Cade and the others are out to get him, but Cade reassures him that he is only trying to help. Then, after explaining how he was ambushed, Optimus warns the other Autobots to hide because an unidentified party is after them. When word spreads that Cade had bought a semi truck, things get heated. The Cemetery Wind are soon sent to Cade's house, where Savoy threatens to kill Tessa unless Cade gives them Optimus. When Optimus learns that Cade and his family are in danger, he blows his cover to give his human allies some time to flee. Cade is able to seize a small drone being used by the Cemetery Wind men during the firefight. In a stroke of luck, Tessa's (secret) boyfriend Shane Dyson (Jack Reynor) just so happened to be passing by in his Rally Racer, and they pile in as Savoy and his men pursue. Both battles collide in the ruins of an old factory, where Shane's rally-racing abilities help them take off most of the Cemetary Wind's crew. Optimus himself takes off, but is soon accosted by a grey Lamborghini, which is Lockdown! When the axle snaps, though, the group flees, but not before Lockdown fires a flash-metal weapon that catches Lucas and encases him in metal as Cade, Tessa, and Shane get in Optimus and speed off. To make sure they aren't being followed, Optimus drives the humans to a run-down gas station before leaving. Although Shane and Tessa insist that they have known each other since high school, Cade is furious when he learns that his daughter was dating a boy behind his back at the station (despite the fact that he had forbidden her to date anyone). When Cade comments on Lucas' Irish accent, the young man reveals that he came to the country to rally race (and that Red Bull is currently his sponsor). The main reason he is willing to stay with Cade and Tessa, though, is to look after his girlfriend, is because his racing equipment has been destroyed. After the argument, Cade uses some of the old station's technology to hack into the miniature drone he had taken during the firefight. He has access to the video it has captured, including footage of the Cemetary Wind crew destroying the Autobots Ratchet and Leadfoot. The group travels west toward Monument Valley when Optimus Prime shows up the following day, but not before stopping at a small ATM. Cade tries to use his ATM card with the drone but is unsuccessful because someone has locked his account. The transaction attempt is obviously discovered by Attinger, and a number of police vehicles quickly arrive at the scene in search of Cade. However, the group has already left. As they draw close to Monument Valley, Optimus scans a long-nose semi truck passing by, and his exterior transforms into a flashier, more contemporary semi rig, complete with red flames on a blue body. Other Autobots, including Hound (John Goodman), Drift (Ken Watanabe), Crosshairs (John DiMaggio), and Bumblebee, come out of hiding as the vehicle enters Monument Valley. The other Autobots are leery of the humans Optimus has brought, but they begin to warm up when their leader explains how they have assisted him. The other Autobots are curious as to why they are being sought after after seeing the footage from the mini-drone that Cade had earlier shown the group. The people threatening his family are the ones that Cade also wants to assist in identifying.Their investigation takes them to KSI, a business in Chicago, Illinois. Joshua Joyce (Stanley Tucci), the head of KSI, has been collaborating with Harold Attinger and Chinese businessman Su Yueming (Bingbing Li) to build artificial Transformers that will eventually be used by the military. The team managed to create a metal called "Transformium," which when given commands through a computer, can be manipulated into different shapes. They did this by studying the ruins of Megatron, Sentinel Prime, and numerous other pieces of alien technology from after the Chicago war. The Stinger drone, created by KSI based on Bumblebee's design, is already in use, but Joyce's main focus is on the Galvatron, a much larger drone. Galvatron has not, however, been able to be created to Joyce's standards because no prototype has been able to properly form from the Transformium used, and the final robot design does not adhere to Joyce's request that it resemble Optimus Prime. Cade and Shane successfully fabricate fake ID badges with Bumblebee's assistance, and Cade successfully breaches KSI. Cade beams images of what he is seeing, including a young Autobot named Brains (Reno Wilson) and Ratchet's severed head, which is being melted down to extract the Transformium material inside him, back to the Autobots using the mini-drone. Cade is unfortunately caught by security and taken to see Attinger after his use of a fake ID badge is discovered. Attinger demands to know where Optimus Prime is and explains that what he has seen is a precaution to ensure the safety of everyone in the world. Cade continues to be silent, though. The sight of a fallen comrade's remains being desecrated incenses Prime, who then commands the Autobots to charge into KSI's facilities. In order to destroy the products before Joshua Joyce shows up, the group enters the factory after Bee successfully frees Cade from Attinger's office. The actions are being taken, according to Joyce, to prevent further Transformer damage and because humans "don't need" the Autobots any longer. Brains is eventually set free by the group. The others are then led out of the factory by Optimus Prime, but Attinger approaches Joyce and accuses her of being involved in an "open war" on humans because the Autobots broke into the building. By using Stinger and Galvatron to defeat the Autobots, Attinger is able to force Joyce. The two drones, which are controlled by humans, change into Autobots on a highway leading out of Chicago. One of the two, Galvatron, is dispatched to hunt down Optimus Prime, who makes an attempt to stab Galvatron in his "spark chamber," but is unsuccessful. The human-made Transformer growls, "that is why I have no fear!" when Prime is surprised that his adversary lacks a spark. Suddenly, Lockdown and his ship appear as a barrage of gunfire knocks Optimus Prime to the ground. Galvatron then departs, leaving Lockdown to glow over Optimus Prime and inform him that his Creators "want him back.". Then, with the aid of a net that Lockdown had deployed, Optimus Prime and a nearby vehicle are both lifted into the ship. Tessa had, in fact, sought refuge inside the car, and Cade made an unsuccessful attempt to extricate her. Following that, Lockdown places Optimus Prime in a cage, and Optimus Prime observes several other aliens in cages. He is also informed that before Lockdown turned it into his prison ship, a group of Legendary Knights had been using the ship. Attinger learns of Optimus Prime's capture as the ship passes over Chicago and makes plans for Savoy to meet on Lockdown's ship. Attinger uses his influence to order a cease-fire despite several government agencies wanting to fire on the ship, claiming he has "an asset" on board.Cade, Shane, and the rest of the Transformers climb on board as it passes low over a bridge. While the Autobots successfully rescue Optimus Prime, Cade and Shane locate Tessa, who witnessed Savoy receiving a silver object known as "the Seed" from Lockdown as part of the bargain for capturing Optimus Prime. In another strange arsenal, Cade and Shane also manage to get their hands on some weapons. Cade ends up with a sword that can transform into a laser gun. The ship's docking cables are made to extend by Crosshairs in order to attach to The Willis Tower and prevent the ship from warping into space. This is done to create a distraction. Due to Bumblebee's assistance, this enables Cade, Shane, and Tessa to descend onto the tower. A few gunships from Lockdown's ship start to pursue the group as Crosshairs soon appears in one. Lockdown prepares to enter warp after successfully cutting the mooring cables, but Prime and the others discover that his prison cell is actually a detachable ship and take off before they can enter space, with Prime confident that Lockdown will be a long way away before he discovers what has happened. Back at KSI, it is decided that all of the equipment will be moved to their Hong Kong facility so that business can continue as usual. Joyce is also upset about the fight's control of Galvatron changing several times. even ignoring the Transformer's speech, which was . Optimus Prime claims that during his battle with Galvatron, he sensed the presence of his longtime foe, Megatron. The Autobots and humans reassemble nearby a train yard. Then Brains confirms this, explaining why Joshua Joyce was unable to program Galvatron to resemble Optimus Prime because he was forced to decipher functionality still present in the Decepticon's brain. This functionality helped create Galvatron's physical form. Galvatron also made use of his expertise to permit Joyce to create Stinger and the other drones, with the intention of using them as Galvatron's new army. Soon after, Optimus and Tessa each give an explanation of the seed they both saw and how their creators used it to eradicate species on planets and mine metal that sustains life. the Transformers, the type that inspired them! Then, Drift decodes a communications message revealing Joyce's intended destination—KSI's factory in China. When Cade learns this, he calls Joyce and tells her what they have learned about Galvatron. Cade begs Joyce to turn off Galvatron before things get out of hand because he knows Joyce is also an inventor with compassion. Cade, Tessa, and Shane board the spaceship with the Autobots as the police arrive at the train yard. However, according to Optimus Prime, once the Autobots have returned with the Seed from Hong Kong, they will no longer be necessary to protect humans. Cade expresses his disapproval of this to Optimus Prime's silence. The transformer insists to his pilot to turn around and return to Earth when Lockdown finally realizes that his captive has escaped from him. Lockdown complains that Optimus Prime took his "trophy case" and threatens to punish the Prime. Attinger and Savoy then bring the Seed to Joyce's meeting. In order to increase the production of Transformium for military use, Joyce intends to explode the seed in a section of the Mongolian desert and then harvest the results. Attinger, clearly moved by Cade's prophecy, wants them to ramp up production right away but becomes enraged when Joyce suggests that they should slow down.On the factory floor, Galvatron suddenly activates and starts to infect the other Transformers made by KSI (there are over 50 of them!). As soon as the alarm for Galvatron sounds, Joyce has Attinger and Savoy escorted outside. Then, along with the seed, he enters a vehicle with Yueming and a companion named Darcy (Sophia Myles). The three quickly decide they must locate a location to conceal the seed as they depart in their car. As dawn breaks, Yueming tries to assist Joyce in getting the seed out of the city while Darcy takes off in their car to create a distraction. Joyce texts his scientists while they are running away to ask about the blast radius of the seed. and is informed that it has a range comparable to a thermonuclear weapon! The Autobots' ship approaches and tries to snag Joyce and the seed as she seeks refuge on a rooftop. The ship is being attacked by Galvatron and his drones, who have now surfaced. The ship spirals off into a mountainous area nearby, carrying Prime, Crosshairs, and Drift as well as the captured Legendary Knights. This causes the humans, Bumblebee, and Hound to spill out of the open gantry. Cade draws Savoy off, and the two have a chase across the rooftops before a fight in a small apartment sends Savoy out a window to his death. As Hound and Bumblebee struggle to repel the drones, Cade and the others attempt to descend from the roof only to be fired on by Savoy nearby. Attinger, who has just seen Savoy die, then gets a message from Lockdown. After Lockdown receives confirmation from Attinger that Prime is nearby, Lockdown sets out to return to Earth. Due to the drones' overwhelming numerical advantage, Hound and Bumblebee radio their predicament to their friends. The other Legendary Knights, a.k.a. the Dinobots, who were imprisoned aboard the ship are then set free by Optimus using one of the ship's swords, which Prime has promised in exchange for their cooperation with the Autobots. The four freed beings then change and move toward the conflict! The Autobots manage to destroy the drones with their assistance, but Galvatron escapes during the conflict and Stinger is killed by Bumblebee. Then Lockdown's ship shows up and starts to eat anything made of metal, almost taking the seed, but Optimus manages to disable its anti-gravity system before Lockdown Prime uses his weapons, ruining the mood. Prime then follows the ship to a silo on an offshore island where Lockdown descends, enraged and prepared to annihilate the bounty that stole his trophies! As Cade rushes to assist Optimus, Attinger approaches him and threatens to kill him for interfering with his plans. However, in the nearby melee, Optimus sees Cade in danger and shoots at Attinger, killing him instantly. However, this action leaves Prime exposed, and Lockdown impales Optimus with his own sword. When all seems lost, Bumblebee makes a surprise appearance with Shane and Tessa. They use the cable from a nearby tow truck to help knock Lockdown off his feet and remove the sword from Optimus' chest. When it appears that Lockdown is about to eliminate Cade!, the assistance successfully enables Optimus to kill the evil bounty hunter by finally slicing Lockdown in half. Galvatron realizes this and uses Lockdown's ship to flee, but not before saying, "We shall meet again Prime! For I am reborn!" Galvatron then uses Lockdown's grenade to destroy all the remaining KSI Drones before fleeing with the Yeagers and Shane. Optimus then informs his human allies and fellow Autobots that he is still being sought after. He wants to remove the seed from Earth and could also look into who sent Lockdown after him. With the help of some rocket boosters in his feet, Optimus rockets into space and away from Earth's atmosphere. search for his Creators.
